Why Stabahoula?

So why Stabahoula? Well first I live in Catahoula Parish in Louisiana. just a rural part of north Louisiana in a forgotten part of a forgotten State. This used to be a thriving agricultural community, where people raised families and made America Great. This place has been supplanted by a prison industrial complex that has corrupted everything and everyone it has touched.

Harrisonburg has a prison that houses more inmates than citizens that live in the town. This prison is named the Catahoula Correctional Center. The prison was originally built as a private prison and over the years has had its problems, but slowly became the primary employer of the parish. There was just no industry to seek a living wage job that is local.

In 2021, Sheriff Toney Edwards took over operations of the private prison and began running it as part of the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office. Since then, the prison has become more and more violent with more and more violent offenders being housed in the prison.

The inmates in the Catahoula Correctional Center call it “Stabahoula” and for good reason. The Catahoula Correctional Center has had more violent inmate on inmate attacks than any other prison facility in the State of Louisiana. People are murdered in the Catahoula Correctional Center on a regular basis. And every month there are multiple beating and shank attacks by inmates on other inmates. And no one seems to care.

Louisiana Department of Corrections doesn’t care;

The Louisiana Attorney General doesn’t care;

The Louisiana State Police doesen’t care

The Justice Department doesn’t care;

The mainstream media doesn’t care;

and most certainly Sheriff Toney Edwards doesn’t care!

Inmates are routinely tortured and beaten by guards and the guard’s punishment is to get fired and hired back a week later.

The inmate’s family are routinely fleeced financially by overpriced commissary products and overpriced telephone systems. All so Toney Edwards can pad his pockets and the pockets of his friends who give him prison contract kickbacks.

So, this blog will be dedicated to changing that name of “Stabahoula” from something tainted, corrupt, and foul to hopefully something that produces a change for the better in this forgotten part of America.

I will add to this blog site when I can and invite anyone interested in trying to make a change for Catahoula Parish to send me their own opinion pieces or articles to post. Since the Catahoula News Booster is devoid of anything even remotely critical of Toney Edwards, at least you and I can have a forum to tell the truth about this Clown and his clown show, to anyone who may be paying attention and does care.
