So in October of 2023 the Catahoula Parish sheriff ran a front page on the Catahoula News Booster of acquiring two K-9 units:
I don’t know where “Bert” is, never seen or heard about him. I’m hearing that his certification has lapsed. But “Bear” was apparently bought by the Sheriff Office in late 2021 for a hearty price tag of some $30,000 plus dollars.
Well it appears that in February 14, 2024, a little more than four months after the announcement of “Bear” joining the CPSO, and his official certification, the sheriff donated “aka Gave Away” Bear to a person, two days after the clown sheriff fired this person for some half-backed cockamamie reason.
I understand that “Bear” was born around late February of 2021, that would mean when the sheriff gave away “Bear” he was a little less than three years old. Apparently included in this donation was all of the K-9 equipment associated with “Bear” that estimated cost around $20,000 dollars.
I mean read it for yourself:
Why would you retire a K-9 only four months after he joined the CPSO? I guess we don’t have a need for illegal “drug interdiction” in Catahoula Parish anymore!
Why would you retire the K-9 only four months after he was certified? How much did the training and certification of this K-9 unit cost the Catahoula Parish Taxpayers for four months of use?
Why is it ok for the Clown sheriff to just give away a very expensive asset, “Bear,” that cost the taxpayers of this parish at the least some $50,000 dollars? Are you the citizens of Catahoula Parish ok with that waste? We pay two law enforcement district millage taxes in this parish and the Clown sheriff thinks its ok to just throw $50,000 dollars away?
Don’t forget about the expensive dog food, transportation costs, training costs and vet bills associated with this K-9 that were just given away on a whim by the Clown!
Why wont the legislative auditor or state treasurer do anything about this? Because they don’t care? Believe me they know about it!
Why doesn’t the Louisiana Attorney General do something about this clear abusive waste of taxpayer resources? Because they don’t care? They know about it too.
Why doesn’t the police Jury do something about this clear abusive waste of taxpayer resources? Because they don’t care? They also know about it too.
And I am told, don’t know this for sure, that “Bear” was actually purchased by a federal grant to the Catahoula Parish Sheriff Office to pay for the K-9, if that is true, then apparently the feds don’t care either! more abusive wasting of the peoples money.
If there is any good news about “Bear” he is well and keeping the people in another parish safe and he is on patrol, doing his duty! just not for the people of Catahoula who paid for it!
That said, I also hear that the Clown sheriff gave away “Nik,” a previous K-9 unit, in 2018 when he again fired a deputy. Not sure where “Nik” is now, but you can bet the people of Catahoula Parish paid for that one too! More of our money wasted by the Clown sheriff who is too busy Facebook policing Myles McMillin over stupidity!
I read this Constitution Provision of the constitution of the State of Louisiana. The same Constitution old Clown sheriff took his Oath too and I don’t see where K-9 unit is listed as an exception to prohibited use of “the funds, credit, property, or things of value of the state or of any political subdivision shall not be loaned, pledged, or donated to or for any person, association, or corporation, public or private.” So much for Toney Edwards swearing to uphold that Oath of office!
This post is intended to express my political views about a corrupt elected official or to provide lawful information to others about a corrupt elected official. It is intended to insult, be offensive, and be repugnant, and to show how Toney Edwards has abused and wasted the taxpayers of Catahoula parish’s tax dollars by giving away assets the people paid for. He needs to explain to us why he gave these K-9s away and flushed our money down his million dollar shitter!
